Altar Bar

Like a rock n roll phoenix rising from a sticky carpet, Altar will soon re-emerge as Altar Bar.

You might have noticed we've been doing some renos—the bandroom remains (with a couple upgrades) but we're adding a new front bar and completely redoing upstairs to create free spaces to hang out five days a week.

The new Altar Bar will open Wed-Sun (Weds + Thurs from 4pm and Fri—Sun from midday) and kick on till late. What does late mean? We've heard your feedback and will be open till at least 2am on Friday and Saturday nights… later if you're not ready to go home.

We'll be slinging cheap booze all day every day, including $6.66 beers, ciders + wines, cheap spirits and cocktails, plus a new menu featuring all the classic pub grub you can stomach.

Gigs will continue. If anything, expect to see more. And if you're not here for the live music (or even if you are), there's pool, a jukebox, a claw machine, and foosball to keep you occupied.

Opening Party
